That is why the USC Trojans, LSU Tigers, Miami Hurricanes and Florida State Seminoles have season long contracts with Big Fogg to supply our climate control misting/fogging and heating systems. As Jeff Boss, late great equipment manager of LSU said: “The Big Fogg Misting Systems are superior to any other system; it is more functional, effective and reliable. It keeps my players refreshed and safe, without getting them wet”.
Big Fogg misting Sytems are the official provider of sideline misting systems and heating systems for the USC Trojans. Our participation with them started at the BCA classic in Washington DC on August 27th between the Trojans and Virginia Tech. During USC undefeated championship season, Big Fogg was with them every step of the way. Our premier high-pressure misting fans were on the sideline for every victory, including the close game against the University of California, the thrashing of Notre Dame and the regular season finale at the Rose Bowl against arch rival UCLA. Dino Dennis, the equipment manager for the USC Trojans said “The Big Fogg Misting System is critical. It rejuvenates the players and gives them an additional edge. Thank you for all you do and your support.”
Christopher Miehl, President & CEO of Big Fogg Misting Systems, remembers that USC was the first NCAA or NFL team to use Misting Fans on its sidelines. “It was a hot day in the summer of 1993 and we were in Hemet, CA investigating a low-pressure misting system for patio misting. We drove past a dairy farm there where cows were being cooled down by a big fan that had misters attached to the fan’s face. Then the lights went on for us and we came up with the idea for other applications. We approached USC to be the first team to place Misting Fans on their sidelines. Dino Dennis, the equipment manager for the Trojans was very supportive and enthusiastically agreed. The product worked so well that we took them to Hawaii for the Aloha Bowl, where the Buffalo Bills spotted them.
The Bills were looking for the competitive advantage in their upcoming AFC championship game against the Dolphins in Miami. They commissioned us to provide Misting Fans for them at the game. After their victory, both the Bills and the Cowboys had our Misting Systems on the sidelines at the most recent Super Bowl played in LA. Over the years, the technology has improved and we feel that our new enhanced High-Pressure Misting Fans contributed to the back to back championship seasons for our very first client, the USC Trojans.”
