To combat the extreme temperatures, the United States Tennis Association (USTA) brought in Big Fogg to install 18 of their signature misting fans across high-traffic areas of the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. With temperatures hitting record highs, these installations proved vital in demonstrating the growing demand for cooling systems at major events.

Positioned on Broadway between 48th and 49th Streets, the Cooling Plaza is a pilot project developed by the Times Square Alliance in partnership with GAF, Big Fogg, Carvel™, the NYC Department of Health, and the Mayor’s Office of Climate and Environmental Justice. The goal: provide immediate cooling relief while showcasing practical solutions to urban heat.
Big Fogg’s state-of-the-art flash evaporation misting system is the centerpiece of the plaza. Engineered for performance, the misting tents lower ambient temperatures quickly and efficiently—without soaking passersby. These same misting systems are trusted by the NFL, NCAA, Olympics, World Cup, and other world-class events to keep athletes cool and safe.
